Business Justification

As automated processes replace traditional paper-based transactions, businesses and customers require a seamless solution to ensure that the information they are sending and receiving is accurate. E-LOCK ProSigner removes the guesswork from processing forms and other important documents. All businesses can benefit from a seamless office solution that authenticates the correct information is sent through the proper channels and receives the proper approvals.

Digital signature and user/data validation solutions verify that information in a document or process has not been altered.  They also identify everyone who digitally signs a transaction. This enables your organisation to control levels of authorisation while preventing unauthorised approvals.  Identification methods range from simple, PIN-based technology to smart cards and digital certificates (i.e., electronic "credentials" that guarantee the identity of people online). As a result, you can sign and approve documents electronically, eliminating the need to print them out and sign them by hand.

Digital Certificates are useful because they attest to the identity of the user or organisation.  Certificates also offer several security advantages including:

bullet

Real time encryption with SSL: SSL encryption requires the server to present its digital certificate to the client before further transactions take place.

bullet

Single user login over any network (such as the Intranet, Extranet and Internet): With a digital certificate, users log in once and present their certificate to servers when requested. This eliminates the hassle of entering a user name and password multiple times.

bullet

Secure email over S/MIME: Certificates are an integral part of S/MIME. In order to send someone an encrypted message, you must have the recipient’s certificate.

bullet

Strong authentication: Certificates provide stronger and more reliable authentication over traditional methods. Traditional methods include entering user names and passwords

bullet

Authentication without user names/passwords going over network: Because certificates are public information, they can travel across the Internet, Extranet and Intranet without any security risks.
